*Down to just one thousand-yard rusher lined up behind him, Zeeland East senior QB Michael Custer came through against No. 1 Muskegon. He completed 21-of-29 passes for 337 yards and two TDs as the Chix finished the regular season 9-0 thanks to the 40-39 win over Muskegon.
*Kenowa Hills senior Dylan Smith had 187 yards and four TDs on six catches in a 57-22 defeat of Grand Rapids Union.
*Hartford’s David Mireles ran for 302 yards and two TDs on just 9 carries as Hartford beat up on Lawrence 56-7.
*Ogemaw Heights qualified for the playoffs by beating Alpena 42-13. Senior Brandon Benac ran 16 times for 182 yards and three TDs.
*Wyoming QB Jack Rozema carried the ball 16 times for 194 yards and three TDs and completed 7-of-11 throws for 101 yards and two TDs. Wyoming was a 50-14 winner over Belding.
*Traverse City Central senior QB TJ Schepperly ran for 213 yards and two TDs and passed for 101 yards and a TD in a 42-21 win over Cadillac.
*It was another yeoman effort from Kalamazoo Hackett senior Geovante Weston. He compiled 234 yards and two TDs on 39 rushing attempts and Hackett beat Kalamazoo Christian 16-8.
*The Lake Michigan area’s other workhorse back, East Grand Rapids Jahaan Brown, ran for 276 yards and four TDs on 24 attempts and also had a receiving TD as the Pioneers ended on a high note, 37-14 over Caledonia.
*QB Justin McCauley ran 19 times for 154 yards and two TDs and threw for two more TDs for 9-0 Paw Paw, a 46-36 winner against Edwardsburg.
*Jesse Ring ran for 256 yards and four TDs. Bangor beat Martin 72-0.
