The Lake Michigan Football Report Senior Exposure Camp

Do you dream of playing college football? On December 2nd, The 2012 Senior Exposure Camp will provide an opportunity for football student-athletes to step closer to this dream.  All seniors are invited to take the field one last time to showcase their football talent in front of college coaches from Division 2, Division 3, and NAIA schools.  Players will compete in the 40-yard dash, position group drills and one-on-one drills to catch the attention of college scouts prior to the National Football Signing Day on February 6, 2013. The event will be covered by the Lake Michigan Football Report.

After the on-field action concludes, players and college coaches will have an opportunity to meet face-to-face at a post-event reception. This is an excellent opportunity for players to get to know the coaches and provide them with their highlight film. Registration details are listed below.

College coaches from the following programs have confirmed their attendance: Ferris State University, Grand Valley State University, Hillsdale, Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan, Northwood, Saginaw Valley State, Wayne State, Alma, Wabash, Adrian, Hope, Albion, Ohio Northern, Olivet, Trine

  1. Hi this is justin from DNAscouting and I have some athletes from oakland county who I suggested on attending your camp. Many of these kids are lineman and need a chance to be discovered. Is this a skills camp or is everyone aloud to attend? what should they bring to this event? Maybe we can work together with this down the road. Please contact me if you can.

Hi Justin, thanks for the message. Everyone is allowed to attend; we have some good linemen coming so this would be a good opportunity for your players as well. They can register online to secure their spot (see link on this page). Players just need to bring workout clothes, a helmet (no pads), and their highlight DVD. Feel free to email us with any other thoughts/questions (lakemichiganfootballreport@gmail.com) — thanks!

  2. Will all players be lifting weights and running 40 yard dashes? Will receivers be catching passes? Quarterbacks throwing passes?

    1. Senior Staff Writer | Reply

Yes to the above. QBs will throw (have some good ones coming in); and WRs and DBs will drill against each other as well.

      1. So there is lifting and combine testing there? Or is it just on field drills and 1 on 1’s?

      2. Senior Staff Writer

There won’t be any lifting, but players will do 1-on-1 drills, position drills, and test in the 40.

  3. Should we bring helmets or no?

    1. Senior Staff Writer | Reply

Yes, players will need to bring helmets (no pads) and turf shoes or tennis shoes.

  4. What All Will This Camp Consist Of ?.. and is there anyway i can get this emailed to me ?? (jsimsqb4@gmail.com)

    1. Senior Staff Writer | Reply

Jerry — will send you an email, but here’s what the camp consists of:
      –one-on-one drills and position-specific drills
      –40-yard dash timing
–“meet and greet” for players & college coaches

  5. Thanks , And what about Dual-Postion Players ?

    1. Senior Staff Writer | Reply

Jerry, we have players start off in the position they’d like to play in college. If the college coaches would like to see them play on the other side of the ball, they will move them over. Thanks.

  6. When is the last day to register?

  7. Do we bring one highlight DVD or one for each college attending?

    1. Senior Staff Writer | Reply

You want your DVDs to go to coaches who are interested in you or to schools who you’re really interested in. One for every school is not necessary. Maybe narrow it down to 4-5 connections you want to make.

  8. Hi, this is Gary from Boyne City. My son Austin is a kicker well there be any drills or opportunities for him to show the coachs his talent?

    1. Senior Staff Writer | Reply

Gary, thanks for the message. Unfortunately due to space, we will not have opportunities for him to kick at this camp. We will, however, have an event in May at Thirlby Field (Traverse City) with drills for all positions. The information for that event is available at ChildressSports.com. Thanks.

  9. Will there be any helmets available for the athletes to use at the camp. I have some players coming up but most of my helmets have been sent out for reconditioning.

    1. Senior Staff Writer | Reply

Thanks for the message. We won’t have extra helmets available, but they will be OK. We anticipate that others may not have helmets for various reasons and will adjust the drills accordingly.

  10. What if your cleats are not metal what if they are plastic n dont come off like the metal ones

    1. Senior Staff Writer | Reply

That’s fine. You can bring those but please also bring tennis shoes. Thanks.

      1. ok thank you
